Seattle, WA – September 8, 2024 – The Early Learning and Youth Program hosted a remarkable back-to-school event that not only provided essential supplies but also fostered a sense of community and fun. Over 61 children received school supplies, while 50 underage kids were given diapers, marking a significant effort to support local families.

The event, which was a collaborative success between two key departments, showcased the power of community engagement. Attendees enjoyed a day filled with activities, food, and a strong sense of camaraderie. Organizers expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support and attendance, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings in building a supportive network for families.

In addition to the back-to-school supplies, the program is extending its support to high school juniors and seniors, as well as young adults up to the age of 27, by offering college access resources. This initiative, in partnership with King County, aims to assist with continuing education and college applications, providing a pathway to higher education for all eligible youth.

For more information on how to access these resources, interested individuals are encouraged to email
