New York, 2024 — Floribert Mubalama, an influential figure in strengthening relations between the United States and Africa, particularly with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), left his mark in the corridors and lobbying spaces of the 79th United Nations General Assembly. His participation in this event provided a valuable opportunity to draw global attention to African countries seeking cooperation and openness.

During this assembly, Floribert, in his capacity as Founder and CEO of Congolese Integration Network, Honorary Consul of the DRC in Washington, and Chief Administrator of the Congolese Chamber of Commerce, sought to advance crucial issues for the development of the African continent. His efforts focused on economic development, sustainable mining practices, infrastructure investments, and regional security, aiming to enhance bilateral relations and promote mutual growth.

One of Floribert's flagship initiatives is promoting transparency in the DRC's mining sector. By encouraging, among others, the American private sector to invest in Congo's critical mineral resources, he is paving the way for long-term partnerships beneficial to both countries. These initiatives also strengthen diplomatic ties between the DRC and the United States.

Relentless, Floribert spares no effort to drive progress. As a reminder: About a month ago, he also played a major role during an important mission in India. In Visakhapatnam, he participated in the African Medical Technology Consortium at AMTZ, alongside members of the Congolese government. The main objective there was to effectively highlight investment opportunities in public health in the DRC.

T

he impact of Floribert's work is highlighted by the testimony of John Bunszel, an American entrepreneur who, thanks to Floribert's efforts, discovered the potential of the DRC. Through field visits with Floribert or the Congolese Integration Network team, John became a fervent admirer of the Congo. At the DRC Business Roundtable, a side event at the General Assembly, he met H.E. Patrick Muyaya Katembwe, Minister of Communication of the DRC. This meeting not only reinforced his vision of opportunities in the DRC but also highlighted the importance of the

relationships developed by Floribert as Honorary Consul in Washington.

In conclusion, Floribert Mubalama's work is essential for strengthening relations between the United States/the world and Africa, particularly the DRC. His vision of a prosperous future relies on strong and mutually beneficial partnerships, paving the way for increased cooperation and sustainable development for both nations.
